There is always a latent acoustic dimension in this artist's work as well as a connection with language in the way she explores and transforms the relationships between objects and their meaning. Perpetual Canon is an installation made up of sixty wind instruments that once belonged to a brass band and have been flattened and suspended in space, making a circle. Their acoustic potential has been silenced, as if the air that normally makes them sound has been inhaled instead of blown. The instruments' shadows form the visual representation of a canon, a musical term that means the continuous repetition of a verse, which the artist recreates through silent repetition of the image of the instruments.
