José Antonio Hernández-Díez

José Antonio Hernández-Díez belongs to a new generation of artists whose work has been largely shaped by visual culture. His career is a constant mixture of media, though two have always predominated: sculpture and video. His installations usually combine furniture specially designed by him, which is normally used as a base for television monitors showing images related to his work as a whole. Popular culture is also a subject of those works, though it is filtered through operational systems that transform it and endow it with a certain hermetic halo.
